Shenzhen, China | Jan. 16, 2016
Warp United announced today in Shenzhen her plan to raise USD 3 millions series A funding for global operation.
Warp United was founded in April 2013 in Shenzhen, China to build the first commercialized Medical Recorder, an eHealth Point-of-Care solution. From zero, Warp United was lucky to have some great investors put money into Warp United 3 in seed round, and ca. UD$130K from local government grant. Over the years, the product has evolved into a full working, European Union Medical Device Directive conforming, actual medical recorder. The project team has grown to 9 incredibly inspiring people and 8 distributed project teams. Warp United created a culture of working from wherever in the world, and eventually created a multi-purpose point-of-care solution that enables doctors to work wherever in the world.
Warp 3 Medical Recorder First Launched, 2016
At this moment, Warp United is launching the first product, Warp 3 Medical Recorder, a handheld solution with vital signs and ultrasound module, for primary care market. It is projected that Warp 3 Medical Recorder will start generating revenue in the first week of April 2017, and will continue focusing on creating a solid global distribution network. Warp United worked first towards earning money by manufacturing a valuable product, and now decides to raise $3m series A funding for the following reasons:
1. Keep developing products for the next 3 years
Warp United is still at the beginning, as we want to keep building a series product line that eventually make a pocket clinic available. To help us “go long”, in this funding round, $1m-$1.5m of the $3m will be put in new product development. It could be increasingly accelerate the R&D project in the pipeline, and it could be truly game changing in the revenue growth. Warp United could deliver more function modules to the Warp 3 Medical Recorder package, if sufficient fund was raised.
2. A way to get new partners on board
While Warp United is proud to build things differently, it is also very polarizing and something a lot of people aren’t comfortable with. For example, Warp United is the first home office and cloud based collaborating company that passed EU on-site audition for medical device manufacturer in China. For A round, Warp United wants to recruit partners who understand the global medical industry, as a whole market, and over time understand whether further steps feel right.
3. Cloud based EMR infrastructure spending
As Warp United projects to launch an integrated cloud EMR inboard the Warp 3 Medical Recorder in 2017. There will be some clear challenges from the cloud infrastructure, which includes hardware, operation and labor. It is necessary to prepare in advance.
