This kit replaces the obsolete main board surface mount with radial lead capacitors. New surface-mount style caps are included for the audio & main boards where originally equipped.

If you have a really early Japanese Game Gear with sound PCB 837-7400-01 please let us know and we will send caps that better fit your unusual sound PCB.

Installation Notes:

Some replacement caps may have higher voltage ratings than the original parts (e.g. 100uF 10v instead of 100uF 6.3v)

For easier installation of SMD-type Audio PCB caps with a soldering iron, the plastic spacer on the bottom of the cap can be clipped off, giving extra space to fit the soldering iron & solder.
