Step 1:

Remove Internals And External Accessories

Remove all external fixtures from your helmet. The visor, and things like GoPros, lights and mounts. To clean your internal pads, you’re going to need to remove them. Just detach them and you’re ready to go. If they look like they’ve seen better days, consider replacing them. QUICK TIP: Save the heat for your next run
Excessive heat can damage your helmet’s liner or shell. We recommend storing it in a cool, dry location out of sunlight. Avoid leaving your helmet in a hot car if you can.

Step 2:

Clean Internals

Hand Wash (Recommended)

1. Carefully handwash each pad in the cleaning solution. Massage the pads in the solution to work out sweat and odors.
2. Gently rinse each item under running water to remove the cleaning solution.
3. Squeeze each item to remove excess water and let them air dry out of direct sunlight.

Machine Wash

1. Place the pads in a washing bag.
2. Wash using the “gentle” or “hand wash" setting.
3. Do NOT dry in the dryer. Air dry pads out of direct sunlight.

QUICK TIP: Gloves go on hands, not in helmets
Helmet care starts with preventative measures. Gloves go on hands, not in helmets. You touch a lot of nasty stuff with your gloves—don’t store them in your helmet.

Step 3:

Clean Exterior

1. Soak a clean microfiber cloth in the cleaning solution and wring it out slightly. Ideally, the cloth will be wet but not dripping.
2. Gently wipe down the outside of your helmet to remove dirt and grime.
3. Wash the helmet straps with water and soap. For lightly-colored straps, you might need to scrub a bit to get the grime and sweat stains moving.

QUICK TIP: Your bike is not a hanger
MTB and dirt bike helmets are designed to crush on impact to absorb energy in a fall. Don’t hang your lid on your bars or on your seat post where the risk of a drop fall is high.

Step 4:

Reassemble Your Lid

Once your helmet and the internals are dry, you put it all back together. How easy was that? If your helmet has an adjustable visor, finish up by adjusting it back to your preferred position.

That’s it—you’re ready to get your shred on! Gear up, slip on your now-clean helmet and hit those sweet, sweet trails. Remember: To keep your lid at its freshest best, clean your helmet regularly. This will ensure you’re always looking, feeling, and smelling your race-day best.

QUICK TIP:
Insect repellants and some sunscreens can cause your helmet's finish to peel. Apply these before you don your helmet and hit the dirt.
