Why can Rosehip Oil have different colors?
At Essencial Organics, we work with natural, seasonal, and pure ingredients, which is precisely why you may notice color variations between different batches of our Rosehip Vegetable Oil.
The product may have two main shades:
A more orange-reddish tone, when there is a higher natural concentration of carotenoids and pigments present in the seed.
A more yellowish-straw tone, which can occur due to variations in harvest, climate, soil, or the extraction method, which impact the concentration of pigments without altering the benefits.
Does this affect the quality or effects of the product?
No. The coloring may change, but the therapeutic quality and benefits of the oil remain the same. Both shades contain:

Essential fatty acids (linoleic and oleic)

Skin-regenerating compounds, such as natural retinoids

Anti-inflammatory, healing, and nourishing properties

Scientific basis for color change
The color of rosehip oil naturally varies according to:
- The origin of the plant
- The harvest season
- Climatic and soil conditions
- And the extraction method used (for example, cold pressing preserves more pigments, while more filtered extractions result in clearer oil).
According to phytochemical studies, carotenoids and flavonoids present in the seeds are responsible for the more orange tones. When these compounds appear in lower concentrations (naturally), the coloring tends to be lighter, without compromising the regenerative properties of the oil.

HOW TO USE
Apply a few drops of rosehip oil to the desired area and massage with your fingertips until fully absorbed. Being very powerful, it can also be used diluted in another moisturizer to enhance its action. It can be used as a carrier oil for essential oils.
