Like today, in the 1960's no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co.

One of their special offerings were Tiffany & Co. branded watches, many of which were made for the company by one of the fine manufacturers.

Although the maker's name was often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.

Today's offering showcases this classically elegant Tiffany & Co. ladies dress watch made by Universal Geneve for the prestigious retailer.

Since 1894, the fine Swiss firm Universal Geneve has produced very fine and collectible timekeeping instruments. The company that popularized the idea of the modern chronograph wristwatch, Universal Geneve has produced a number of exceptional timers, including the renowned Tri-Compax. The superior quality of their vintage offerings have earned them a place alongside those of the world's fine watchmakers.

With its understated round case and dial which juxtapose nicely to the more strikingly elegant bracelet, it showcases a classicly vintage style with a sophisticated and charming presence.

We were fortunate to obtain it with all of its original parts down to the dial, hands, diamond faceted crystal and even winding crown. It is in excellent condition, appearing to have been worn carefully in appreciation of its quality and value.

Its 14K gold case presents in just short of mint condition. Its original and untouched silver Tiffany & Co dial is better than near mint. And its bracelet is in excellent condition with only light wear. The original Florentine texturing is very strong.

One of our Master Watchmakers has freshly serviced it. We have also tested the watch on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist, and its fine, handwound movement continues to keep very accurate time.

For the finishing touch we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.

Note: Similar watches are published in John Loring's work Tiffany Timepieces, 2004, pp. 141-143.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. Wonderful and short introduction to plate tectonics for those with little background in Earth science or mathematics
Format: Paperback
Molnar does an excellent job explaining key elements of plate tectonics. His book is understandable even for those with little background in geology or geophysics. Molnar, an expert on mountain building, nicely explains how collisions of plates with continents atop cause mountain belts to form. He also questions the limitations of plate tectonics in explaining formation of such mountains. Understanding Molnar's very short book requires little mathematics. An ideal text for college science courses for non-science majors, and for those who want to understand the evolution of Earth's geological features and phenomena.

Easy to read
Format: Paperback
The book was an easy to read discussion of plate tectonics. The technical terms were easily understood and presented in an interest manner. Technically sound and entertaining is a winning combination for a science book! I wold recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic but is not a scientist in the field.
