This vintage Y2K Betsey Johnson plissé satin dress with embroidery is designed in the style of 1920s chemise or "step in" lingerie pieces— note the drop waist seam and unfitted shape, both hallmarks of this era. Crafted of 100% silk, the fabric has a plissé texture throughout. In keeping with the lingerie inspiration, it features adjustable bra straps and a drawstring at the neckline, as well as buttons down the front— You can play with how they are fastened, leaving some undone at the top, or some undone at the bottom, creating a slit in the skirt. It features patch pockets at the hips, with beautiful flower embroidery, further drawing inspiration from Art Deco Chinoiserie styles.
Measurements: Note that there is a great deal of flexibility in fit, due to the natural stretch of the plissé, adjustable bra straps, drawstring at front neckline, and elastic along the top back. This will likely fit a size X-Small to a Large depending on desired fit, but please refer to below measurements to be sure.
Chest: 32" laid flat unstretched, up to 41" stretched
Waist: 32" laid flat unstretched, up to 40"+ stretched
High Hip (drop waist seam, taken 4" down from natural waist, *NOT the true hip which is further down): 36" laid flat unstretched, up to 41" stretched
