By the 1680s, the stiff-bodied gowns of the previous decades were relegated to court wear and a new style was taking over. In France, early versions of this gown were known by the term robe de chambre. In England (and later in France) they were called manteau or mantua.

Our easy-to-follow pattern helps you make a 1720s-40s Mantua based on extant English and pictorial examples.

Fits busts 30½"-48" and waists 23"-41". All sizes in one envelope. 

Also included are assembly instructions, embellishment suggestions, and the extensive historical notes you've come to expect from Reconstructing History.
