Dieffenbachia 'Camouflage' - Variegated Dumb Cane

The Dieffenbachia 'Camouflage' stands out among indoor foliage plants with its distinctive variegated leaf patterns. This cultivar showcases large, striking leaves adorned with a unique camouflage-like variegation that adds visual interest to any indoor space.

Growth Characteristics

This particular cultivar exhibits an upright and outwardly arching growth habit, creating a naturally attractive form without extensive pruning. The freely clumping nature of 'Camouflage' produces full, dense plants that fill out containers beautifully, making it an excellent choice for floor displays or tabletop arrangements.

Leaf Features

The large leaves of Dieffenbachia 'Camouflage' display an attractive variegation pattern that resembles military camouflage, with cream, light green, and deep green tones blending across each leaf surface. This variegation is stable and consistent throughout the plant's growth, maintaining its ornamental appeal as the plant matures.

Care Requirements

Dieffenbachia 'Camouflage' thrives in bright, indirect light but adapts well to medium light conditions. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the variegated leaves. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, maintaining consistent moisture without waterlogging. This tropical plant prefers humidity levels between 40-60% and temperatures between 65-75°F.

Indoor Growing Benefits

As a member of the Dumb Cane family, this Dieffenbachia cultivar is well-suited for indoor cultivation. Its tolerance for lower light conditions makes it versatile for various room placements. The dense, clumping growth habit creates a lush appearance that fills spaces effectively.

Important Safety Note

All Dieffenbachia plants contain calcium oxalate crystals in their sap, which can cause irritation if ingested or if sap contacts skin. Keep this plant out of reach of children and pets, and wash hands after handling.

Perfect reference guide
Format: Paperback
I bought this book to supplement my lessons with an AMGA guide to learn how to set up toprope climbs. I used it many times to practice and reinforce everything I learned. It is really well written and my favorite book in terms of the knowledge contained within. As common sense would dictate this is not a book to teach your how to toprope...it is a reference to what you have learned?

Essential To Read Before the Class
Format: Paperback
This book provides a good overview of what you'll need to know for your AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) course and assessment. If you plan to take that course this book is a no-brainer. You just have to buy it and read it. There are a few shortcomings: * The photos of how to tie the knots skip a lot and it is impossible to learn the knots from the book. * The photos of what not to do should be clearly labeled with a red cross bar or WRONG overlay on the photo. If you flip causally through the book and look at the photos some very wrong stuff is there and you have to read the text to know that it is not recommended. * The religious debate on anchor systems rages on. Should you set up a Joshua Tree System with Tether or a Backside System? I realize the AMGA doesn't want to pick sides and will say either is acceptable, but the book doesn't even try to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various anchor systems.

over all good book, quality pictures
Format: Paperback
this book will get you ready for the course, but there is a lot to learn outside of the book as well. Training and time is the only way to become truly proficient at the skills out lined in this book. over all good book, quality pictures.
