Curcuma 'White Beauty' is a tropical rhizomatous plant known for its stunning white inflorescences and lush green foliage. This ornamental ginger species produces large, showy bracts that are often mistaken for flowers, while its true flowers are small and hidden among the bracts. The upright, lance-shaped leaves have a glossy finish and can grow up to 60 cm tall, adding vertical interest to indoor plant displays. Though 'White Beauty' is admired primarily for its striking floral display, it also offers attractive foliage that contributes to its overall appeal during non-flowering periods.

Curcuma 'White Beauty' is a seasonal bloomer, typically flowering during the summer months when grown indoors. After flowering, the plant enters a period of dormancy, during which the leaves die back. This dormancy is a natural part of the plant's cycle and should not be mistaken for poor health. With the right care, it will re-sprout in the following growing season, making it a long-term addition to an indoor plant collection.

Native to
Curcuma species are native to tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, including India, Thailand, and Indonesia. Curcuma 'White Beauty' is a hybrid cultivar, bred specifically for ornamental purposes. Its natural habitat consists of warm, humid forests where it grows under the dappled shade of larger plants and trees.

Water
Curcuma 'White Beauty' requires consistent moisture during its active growing season. Water the plant thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry, and ensure that the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging. During its dormancy period in winter, reduce watering significantly, allowing the soil to dry out almost completely until new growth begins to emerge in spring.

Light
This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate some morning sun, too much direct sunlight can scorch its leaves. If grown in low light, the plant may produce fewer flowers or exhibit elongated growth, so placing it in a bright spot away from harsh, direct sun is ideal.

Humidity
Curcuma 'White Beauty' prefers high humidity levels, ideally between 60-80%, to mimic its tropical origins. It is well-suited to growing in humid rooms like bathrooms or kitchens. Alternatively, you can use a humidifier or place the plant on a tray of pebbles with water to increase the humidity around it.

Temperature
This plant grows best in temperatures between 18°C and 30°C. It is sensitive to cold and should be protected from temperatures below 15°C, especially during its growing season. If exposed to cooler temperatures, the plant may prematurely enter dormancy, which can affect its flowering cycle the following year.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.
