Pink Lady’s Slipper Orchids are in the genus Cypripedium in the Orchidaceae family. The genus name Cypripedium is derived from the Greek words "Cypris" an early reference in Greek myth to Aphrodite, and “pedilon” for sandal. This is because the fused petals that form the orchid’s pouch or modified lip (labellum) resemble a slipper or shoe. The staminode (sterile stamen) is often showy and seems to welcome the insect into the pouch where it makes its way to a back-door exit and in so doing transfers pollen to the stigma. For centuries Cypripedium species have been sought after and collected not only for their unique beauty but also for the medicinal trade. Widespread collection, attempts at transplantation, and loss of habitat have drastically reduced their numbers. Wild lady’s slippers have special requirements that make them difficult to cultivate, and rarely survive transplanting from the wild. Because of that, on federal lands it is illegal to dig or pick the orchids.

👠Lady’s Slipper Orchid Grow and Care Instructions👠

~ Grow Instructions ~
Step 1
Combine 4 parts peat moss, 3 parts sphagnum moss, 1 part perlite and 1 part mycorrhizal fungi granules to create a well-draining, soilless growing medium that will encourage the seeds to germinate successfully. Add the soilless growing medium to a 4-inch planting container; choose a container with at least two 1/4-inch holes in the bottom to ensure healthy drainage.
Step 2
Hold the planting container under room-temperature running water until you see it streaming from the drainage holes. Leave the container in the sink for five to 10 minutes to allow any excess water to drain from the growing medium.
Step 3
Mix the seeds with 1/2 cup of fine horticulture sand; pour the mixture into a shaker with holes large enough to admit the small seeds. Sprinkle the sand and seed mixture evenly over the surface of the moistened growing medium.
Step 4
Position the seeds in a site that receives filtered sunlight for at least five hours a day. Water the seeds as often as necessary to keep the growing medium lightly moistened; provide 1/2 cup of water each time you irrigate.
Step 5
Transplant the seedlings to individual 6-inch planting containers when they grow to 6 to 8 inches. Fill the containers with a mixture of 4 parts peat moss, 3 parts sphagnum moss, 2 parts loam, 1 part perlite, 1 part redwood bark and 1 part mycorrhizal fungi granules. Plant the seedlings at the same depth they grew in their original container.
For germination temperature: 15-30 Celsius.

~ Care Instructions ~
Light: Moderate to bright light, no direct sun. Paphs need bright, indirect sunlight to bloom. Lady slipper orchids also do well under fluorescent lights.
Water: Keep mix evenly moist at all times. Paphs prefer more moisture than epiphytic orchids. And if you keep your orchid under a grow lights, it’ll need watering more often. Just don't overdo it. Too-frequent watering can cause root rot.
Humidity: Requires moist air -- preferably 50-60% relative humidity. Set pot on a tray of wet pebbles and mist leaves daily with room-temperature water. Or use a room humidifier. Dry air can be deadly to orchids. A wet pebble tray, cool-mist room humidifier or regular misting will help to maintain at least 50% humidity that will keep your orchids happy. Coming together as a group raises the humidity around these moisture-loving orchids. Or perhaps they just like the distinguished company.
Temperature: 60-65°F/16-18°C nights and 75-80°F/24-27°C days. To ensure blooming, give your orchid slightly cooler nighttime temperatures. A 15° difference will do.
Soil: Orchid potting mix or 2 parts fine-grade fir bark: 1 part perlite or sand: 1 part sphagnum moss.
Fertilizer: Feed with an organic orchid fertilizer, or fish emulsion, twice a month during the growing season.
Propagation: Division. Pull or cut the fans of the leaves apart into clumps of at least 2-3 growths.

Excellent choice
I will skeptical when buying these because I have a pitbull bulldog that likes to chew holes in every toy. This is her favorite she choose on the ball, but she doesn’t actually ruin it because she can’t. It holds up one of the squeakers broke, but that’s expected I guess my wife actually ordered more. I’m not sure if it was from the same seller or not but those ones they don’t favor as much for some reason I seen the same different colors. My dog even sleeps with it sometimes. The picture shows for sleeping with it. I’m definitely happy. I got these. They are tough. I like the fact that they have those little recessed holes so they can grab a hold of it and not get it all slimy like the other balls we have.

Durable and a must have for aggressive chewers
Color: Blue+Red
These are without a doubt the best toys that I have ever purchased for my dog. He's an aggressive chewer and quickly destroys almost every toy I buy. This one hasn't been destroyed yet and the squeaker is still working at about 5 months.

GSD Winner
Color: Blue+Red
10/10 recommend for big dogs with a tough chew. Our GSD absolutely loves these squeaky balls. They have perfect texture for his teeth and for our grip. They are the size of a baseball and are so durable and fun. Yes the squeaky is LOUD but he loves them so much that it's cute

Great buy
Color: Blue+Red
My dogs kill every toy. They arrived very agressive chewers. These have lasted way longer than most balls have. Great value

If your dog loves tennis balls, you NEED these
Color: Azure+Orange, Color: Azure+Orange
Raising any puppy is tough. Raising a German Shepherd puppy has often left me questioning my life choices. So I was ecstatic the day that my 60-lb puppy decided that he loves tennis balls and occupied himself for 2 hours without needing constant intervention. Naturally, my immediate response was to make sure we had a constant supply of large tennis balls for dogs available. Now my puppy loves mischief, but he’s not an aggressive chewer. And I was irritated to discover that every brand and size of tennis ball broke within an hour max of play. By simply playing fetch and batting the ball around with his paws, every single tennis ball split into 2 halves. We needed something better! These squeaky balls are exactly that! They come in a 2-pack. I gave my pup the 1st one a week ago and it’s still going strong! We play fetch in the backyard, he brings it into the doggy pool with him, it rolls around in the dirt and can be rinsed off easily. It’s by far his favorite toy, and he takes it everywhere with him. Finally a squeaky ball that can keep up with my dog! These are the perfect size, texture, bounce, squeak, everything. These are the ONLY squeaky balls I will buy from now on. Five stars for sure!
