Pinguicula cyclosecta is a famous Mexican Butterwort species that produces absolutely one of kind blue-purple tinged leaves under bright light with delicate light purple to deep violet flowers. It's native to the Sierra Madre Oriental and Sierra de San Carlos mountain ranges in the states of Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. While this species grows in limestone cliffs in nature we've found that it excels in our peat:perlite:worm castings soil mix, though it can be grow with success in mineral soils as well. This species produces carnivorous leaves that catch and digest prey with glandular trichomes in the spring and summer before entering its dry soil succulent (non-carnivorous) phase during Fall and winter. 

This is a generally smaller but fantastically beautiful species that makes a totally otherworldly houseplant, it will also pull its weight by catching fruit flies and fungus gnats during the growing season.
